WPD Officer Cleared Of Rape Charges

A WIchita Police Officer is now working to clear his name after he was cleared of all charges in a rape case. Police Officer Marlon Woolcock spoke to reporters this week, maintaining his innocence after a woman went to a Wichita hospital earlier this year and accused Woolcock of raping her. “I am completely inncocent,” Woolcock says. “I did not rape this woman.” But Woolcock wonders if his career will ever recover after Wichita Police named one of their own as being accused of rape. The police department, as it does with every case, publicized Woolcock’s mugshot after he was charged. Police Chief Gordon Ramsay has not made a statement since the charges were dismissed. Woolcock remains on administrative duty pending an internal investigationg within WPD. Ramsay says he will hold a news conference tomorrow.
